As I've pointed out a week or two ago, I migrated into the PC world.
Thinking there as an NT version of LHA, I happily compressed 300MB+ worth of
objects, textures, and mailing list/newsgroup message archives and
transferred them to my new PC and then sold off all my Amigas. To my
horror, there WAS no LHA for NT specifically and the DOS LHA truncated all
the darn filenames.
Welp! Two C++ compilers later (Visual C++'s preprocessor parsing ain't that
hot nor are its error codes. Symantec's C++ is a LOT better!) and lots of
lost hair and sleep later, I have successfully compiled the Unix LHA as a
Win32 console app and the darn thing actually worked! I've managed to
decompress a few of the files for test purposes and the files look good.
Though the rest of the LHA functionality might not be there, all I needed
was extraction. :)
SO! Hopefully by the end of this weekend, I will be caught up with all the
message archives (both mailing lists and newsgroup) and send them to
tomahawk (new new home for the files thanks to Keith) and I can get back to
abnormal!
Dan
Who's looked at bizarre code before but the Unix LHA code was one bizarre
puppy!
